Summer Celebration Giveaway Hop : June 21-29! Win a 3-Step System from Episencial! 3 Winners! US Only #SummerCelebration

Summer Celebration

Welcome to the Summer Celebration Giveaway Hop, hosted by Happy Mothering and Organic Mama through the Green Moms Network! As part of this fabulous event, a group of bloggers is each offering an eco-friendly giveaway worth $25 or more on their blogs!

After you finish entering my giveaway, be sure to visit the other participating blogs, which are listed below the Rafflecopter form. Good luck everyone! Now, onto my sponsor and my review!

You all know by now that I'm careful about what beauty & skincare products I put on my skin. It's important to read labels and know what ingredients are in any products we use. Some "natural" products are in fact filled with parabens, fragrance and other nasty chemicals. I definitely don't want that stuff anywhere near my skin and especially not on Buddy's skin! That brings me to why I love Episencial and their all-natural skincare line that works for the whole family.

With an adorable theme from Eric Carle, safe ingredients, and top ratings from the EWG, I'm sure you'll love Episencial just as much as I do. I'm pretty familiar with Episencial and have purchased their products in the past. Their skincare is designed to work for normal skin, baby skin, sensitive skin and everything in between. Eczema or Dermatitis? Try Episencial. Their gentle, truly natural formulas contain organic ingredients and even natural fruit extracts. You won't find any additives, parabens, phenoxyethanol, harsh preservatives, EDTA, SLS, synthetic fragrances or gluten in Episencial products. I received three products from the 3-Step System that include Episencial's classic go-to products, Playful Wash, Soothing Cream, and Sunny Sunscreen.

The Playful Wash is the perfect 2-in-1 shampoo and body gel for all ages to cleanse the skin. Having just one product for both makes bath time so much easier! Playful Wash has a clear gel consistency that suds up well and spreads easily. A little goes a long way! I think the texture is wonderful, it always washes off quickly and doesn't contain any harmful ingredients so it's very gentle and great for infants too. I'm excited that Playful Wash suds as well as it does without any SLS at all. Playful Wash contains skin-nourishing ingredients including organic calendula, oat extract, tangerine oil, thyme oil, and aloe. It's never had a drying effect and actually seems to keep Buddy's skin quite balanced (I rarely use lotion on him). It has a refreshingly light orange scent to it too. I like it so much that even I use it! It's definitely my favorite soap product to wash with. Playful Wash is also the #1 organic wash chosen by hospitals, it's doctor recommended, and also top rated for safety by the EWG.

The Soothing Cream is a wonderful choice for nourishing your skin. I have sensitive skin that is often dry and itchy, and the Soothing Cream really does soothe my skin and moisturize quite defectively. Soothing Cream is great for after a bath or shower, after playing in the sun all day, or just when your skin needs some extra love. It can be used on the entire body (it won't stain your clothes), and is especially helpful for those with skin conditions like eczema or just common skin irritation. This formula includes ingredients like calming calendula, nourishing probiotics, oat extract, raspberry butter to restore moisture balance and neem oil to fortify and soothe developing skin. It's consistency is thin and lightly creamy, and is unscented. It absorbs well, but does take about a minute before you don't feel it anymore. My hands feel silky smooth after using the Soothing Cream and that for me is an indicator of a good product! It's doctor recommended, and again, top rated for safety by the EWG.

Next, let's talk about sunscreen and protecting out skin. We do need some sun exposure to absorb plenty of Vitamin D, but sometimes an all day event outside or midday swim calls for sunscreen use. Many sunscreens caution you from putting them on babies younger than 6 months old though. What does that tell you? They are filled with toxic chemicals that absorb fast into baby skin, potentially causing harm. Why would ANYONE want that on their skin at all? Episencial's Sunny Sunscreen can be used on a brand new baby all the way up to adults and is completely effective against harmful UVA and UVB rays. It's a broad spectrum, safe mineral sunscreen with an SPF 35. It's active sun protection ingredients are a combination of Titanium Dioxide 11% and Zinc Oxide 5.5% and includes transparent zinc and green tea for supporting skin immunity.

This year the Sunny Sunscreen appears to have be reformulated (based on the active ingredients and packaging change) and seems slightly thicker than last year, but I actually like it better! This way it doesn't come out too quick and it feels like I'm getting better coverage too. It is white, and has the texture of a thicker nourishing lotion, without the typical nasty sunscreen smell of conventional sunscreens. It has a very light scent that shouldn't bother most. Again, it's natural with no artificial fragrances at all. Although it is thick, it is not greasy and really absorbs into the skin well. Sunny Sunscreen is water resistant for up to 80 minutes and definitely protects my family's skin. It is rated by the EWG as a 2 out of 10 for safety as well (0 for best, 10 is horrible!). This is the second year we are using Episencial as our sunscreen of choice!

It looks like Episencial has recently expanded their line of products to include Cheeky Salve, Infant Oil, and larger containers of Peaceful Bubbles and Playful Wash. Everything is made in the USA and actually manufactured using solar power which is pretty neat. I'm excited to see Episencial continue to grow and see their natural skincare reach more and more families every year! It's a brand I trust!
