Seeking an eco-friendly alternative to plastic disposables and chemically grown cloth diapers, Babee Greens was developed. Run exclusively by mothers, their goal of nurturing babies and the environment has turned into a fabulously sustainable, reusable line of certified organic cloth baby diapers, baby products & accessories. They make fitteds, contours, diaper covers, longies & shorties, doublers, liners, wipes, nursing pads, detergent and more. Another part about Babee Greens that I love and admire is that all their products are made here in the USA using ethical and safe manufacturing standards that allow them to offer only the highest quality products for you and your family.
Babee Greens sent me their Wool Changing/Puddle Pad to review. Going along with my potty training theme for the Summer Cloth Diaper Giveaway Hop, I wanted to review this product so I could stop washing sheets and bedding so often! Going through the potty learning process can be time consuming and includes lots of extra laundry on some days. Sure, we're pretty much day trained (crossing my fingers!), but naps and nighttime are a whole new thing. Most naps I'll just opt for a cloth trainer or sometimes a cloth diaper if I think it's going to be a long nap, or Buddy coincidentally just drank a whole cup of water (he loves his water!). Even then, many times I still end up with soaked sheets. Some days he even makes it to the potty right after waking from his nap, so we're totally unpredictable around here right now.
The Wool Changing/Puddle Pad features just one layer of Merino Wool knit using Oeko Tex 100 certified yarn. This Oeko Tex Standard 100 certification ensures that this product is completely free of any harmful substances, and is probably one of the highest honors of material safety a product can receive. The pad measures 16.75" x 28", is a natural cream color, and is perfect for added protection on your changing table or as a mattress protector.
This photo is a bit blurry (sorry), but it gives you an idea of the pad's size. It's not huge, and is probably best for younger child in a crib, but I welcome this natural option to help avoid a huge accident on the sheets through to the mattress protector which them requires a whole bed change. Buddy welcomes the use of this pad before he goes to bed which is not like him at all. He doesn't mind lying on it probably because it's thin, super soft, molds to the bed, and is barely noticeable. Because it's wool, it naturally repels moisture and doesn't require any crinkly, uncomfortable, loud material underneath to make it waterproof. It does however require the same care as a wool diaper cover or similar product. I never tackled the whole wool thing when Buddy was in cloth diapers, so I'm a bit nervous about the care involved when it comes time. Lucky for me Buddy has only had a couple small accidents on this pad so it shouldn't require further care or lanolin for a while. These accidents were completely contained on the pad and I didn't have to wash the sheets!
When used overnight, the pad was completely moved around and no longer under Buddy at all in the morning. But, naps are short enough that this pad is perfect to test out real underwear during this potty training process and it only shifts a little bit. It would be awesome to see this pad come in a larger size and include some sort of strap that goes underneath the mattress to keep the pad secured in one spot. Otherwise, this has been an awesome extra protection solution for us especially during naps!

I'd love to get this because my daughter is showing many signs she's ready for potty training, but I know she'll still probably have accidents at night.
I'd like the newborn contour diaper.
It wouldn't save changing the sheets, but it could be used under the sheets to save the mattress if you don't already have a waterproof layer under the sheets.
I would love to try their wool diaper cover.

We are at the same stage..lots of unpredictability here with training but definitely using diapers at nighttime. Our DD does not generally nap so no worries there.
We're about ready to start potty training, so this would be great for us!
