TRM's Christmas Gift Guide :: Enjoy An Eco-friendly Kitchen With Bambu {Giveaway Ends 12/5}

Finding that perfect gift for the cook in your life couldn't be any easier. This next company has everything you need to surprise them with unique, functional gifts this Christmas!

Bambu offers a beautiful collection of bamboo products for the kitchen and home. Bamboo is a highly renewable, sustainable, and sturdy material which makes it an excellent choice for their contemporary style. They strive to be earth-friendly through their manufacturing processes and by the use of bamboo which is a low impact material. Bambu has even been granted the Green America’s Gold Seal of Approval for their positive impact and sustainable business practices. With sleek designs and high quality craftsmanship, Bambu will surely impress anyone who finds them.
I graciously received three Bambu products: the 'Cutting Edge' Cutting Board, Coiled Salad Bowl and Curvy Servers. Just before receiving these I actually spotted a few Bambu products at my local Whole Foods Market. I couldn't wait to get my pieces in the mail and put them to use after that! The food-safe color lacquers make these so unique and fun!
The 'Cutting Edge' Cutting Board is the perfect size for chopping up just a couple things without taking up too much counter space. It measures just 8" x 11". It's especially great for smaller kitchens with limited counter space in general. This cutting board doubles as a serving board with ease, again, due to it's small size and also it's decorative, colorful edge. I love pulling this cutting board out to cut up a couple veggies or fruits at lunchtime. Then I just rinse with soapy water, towel dry and that's it. Bamboo is easy to care for!

I also received the Peacock Coiled Bamboo Large Salad Bowl which I am quite thrilled about. When we first got into our new home and entertained guests for the first time, we quickly realized we are lacking some larger serving bowls so this one is perfect! This bowl is made from bamboo that is coiled and hand-shaped by artisans in rural Vietnam. A cashew-based, natural lacquer is applied, the bowl is sanded, and the process repeats until a final food-safe, waterproof, durable and scratch-resistant lacquer is then applied. To think of all that when I hold this bowl is simply incredible! Although very smooth on the inside, you can feel the ridges of the coils which is pretty neat. I've used this bowl to serve spinach salads, pasta salads, popcorn for movie night, and chips when we have visitors. You can serve pretty much anything that requires a large, deep bowl! The peacock color is a beautiful turquoise which is probably one of my favorite colors ever. It's bright, happy and overall is so unique compared to anything else I have. It's also quite light and the bowl is pretty thin. I was initially scared to break it but I think it's quite sturdy and should last for years with proper care.

The Kiwi Curvy Servers are a great compliment to the Salad Bowl. With the outside in a kiwi green and the inside just a naked bamboo, these are a perfect addition of color to any kitchen. These are also hand-shaped and curved towards the base so are easy to hold and don't slip. The Curvy Servers are also made using organically grown bamboo Certified by the IMO. I'd love to see this certification expand across the entire Bambu collection in the future, but I do know that Bambu is diligent in using only the safest materials and lacquers in their products.

Bamboo is a relatively new material to me. Sure, I have a bamboo cutting board stashed away somewhere but that's just about it. Since receiving my review products from Bambu, I've come to love bamboo for it's appealing look and texture, sustainability, safety, and renewable attributes. The three items I received are simply gorgeous together too. The fun, bright colors really add that special touch to each one. I was initially hoping to get all three in the green kiwi color, but now I'm glad that a couple were out of stock and I had to mix it up a bit. I think the kiwi, peacock and cobalt go great together and spices up my kitchen quite well!

Working with Bambu has been like working with a close friend. I've had the opportunity to communicate directly with one of the founders who is genuinely kind and easy going. We even chatted a bit about our mutual enjoyment of kombucha! I just think it's important to note what a warm and friendly company Bambu really is. This holiday season, give a gift from Bambu that will last and be used for years to come. Your recipient will not be disappointed!
