Halloween is fast approaching. While I'm not a huge fan of the holiday itself, I do love the fabulous excuse to indulge in delicious candy and goodies. When a dozen Halloween cookies showed up on my doorstep, I knew they wouldn't last long in my house. Smiley Cookies will certainly put a smile on your face!
The Halloween Jack O' Lantern Smiley Cookies come straight to your door fresh-baked, hand-iced, and ready to eat (just like all Smiley Cookies). They certainly do taste fresh, and are probably one of the best gourmet sugar cookies I've had(aside from my mom's homemade of course!). I prefer my sugar cookies to be soft and moist, and I found that Smiley Cookies are certainly just that. The frosting is a perfectly sweet hard icing that stays on the cookie, therefore eliminating a ridiculous amount of frosting crumbs that fall off when you bite into the cookie. That might be just my pet peeve! :) I even found the candy corn to be soft and taste fresh too.
These cute cookies are so delicious that they barely lasted 2 days in my house. And we only have 2 adults and a toddler! (Whoops!) These very satisfying but completely irresistible cookies are full of perfectly sweet goodness. I think these are the perfect Halloween cookie for festivities and parties this time of year! I also like that these cookies were decorated to be very festive and cute, without being scary or frightening for kids. While the entire ingredients list was not disclosed, Smiley Cookies does insist their ingredients are pure. I'm not expecting organic ingredients in this cookie and a fun treat like this every so often doesn't bother me too much. Each cookie is also only 90 calories, 8 grams of sugar, and has no trans fats either. (Edited: that was apparently for the Mini Smiley Cookies. The regular dozen like I reviewed here are 250 calories and 15 grams of sugar per cookie) They certainly do put a smile on your face!
