TRM's Christmas Gift Guide :: Liz Lovely Gluten Free & Vegan Cookies {Giveaway Ends 12/9}

Mmmmm, cookies. I can't resist! Edibles are always great for holiday gift giving, parties and your office buddies. This year, check out Liz Lovely and you'll have everyone asking for more!

Liz Lovely is "baking" a difference with their delicious, handcrafted gluten free and vegan cookies. Using real, natural ingredients, and earth-friendly, sustainable business practices, they're on a mission to show their authenticity through their delicious products, dedication to people and great jobs over profits, and responsible sourcing. All Liz Lovely cookies are Certified Vegan, dairy-free and egg-free. The gluten free line has nine cookie flavors, and there are seven flavors containing wheat. They also make Lovely Oh's and Pretzels which are chocolate covered cookies and pretzels (there's a gluten free one too!).

With my major sweet tooth and going gluten free 5 months ago, I haven't had too many cookies I can speak well of. Of course they need to be gluten free but that also means getting used to a whole new texture and sometimes off-putting flavors. I quite miss those good ol' classic cookie flavors that I thought I'd never get to enjoy again, so I'm thrilled I've found Liz Lovely. I'm also picky about ingredients in general, so I'm so happy to see that Liz Lovely's definition of "natural" aligns well with mine: NO artificial ingredients, NO preservatives, NO "colors" or "flavors" (just real food), NO GMO's, and NO trans fats or hydrogenated oils. Now, I'm not saying these are healthy cookies, because really they are cookies after all and have plenty of deliciously intoxicating sugar. But they are a fantastic alternative to fillers and flavorings and added ingredients often found in goodies, gluten-free especially. How Liz bakes such amazingly "normal" tasting gluten-free cookies without the use of eggs, dairy or wheat flour is totally beyond me.
Liz Lovely cookies aren't just your ordinary gluten free cookies. These allergen-friendly cookies don't taste like they're gluten free or vegan AT ALL! I received each gluten free flavor to try for myself along with one of their comfy Baking a Difference Liz Lovely t-shirts.
Chocolate Fudge - Like a brownie only better! Covered in sugar and using dark chocolate it's rich, but not too much. Chewy, soft, and totally decadent, I can see why this is a best-seller!

 Chocolate Chip - When they describe these as tasting like cookie dough, they weren't kidding! I feel like I'm sneaking cookie dough from the bowl when I eat these. Seriously so amazing to get this flavor in a GF cookie!

Triple Chocolate Mint - Riveling the Girl Scout Thin Mints, these have the perfect touch of peppermint. I used to like Thin Mints, but these are WAY better, and I'm a chewy cookie girl anyway (and obviously Liz is too!). This one also has chocolate chips inside, and drizzled dark chocolate on top for an awesome finish.

Ginger Molasses -Surprisingly one of my favorites, I really enjoyed the light spiciness and candied ginger on top.

Snickerdoodle - Perhaps my favorite cookie as a child (ummm, still love them!), these brought me right back to making, rolling, and dipping in cinnamon sugar with my mom. The flavor and texture is spot on!

Coconut Macaroon - You all know I love macaroons, so how could I resist a macaroon cookie? Delightful with a little lemon for a truly unique macaroon experience.

German Chocolate Cake - Forget the cake, eat these instead! I remember a few German chocolate cakes growing up, but haven't had one in years. So this one also brought me down memory lane with it's chocolate-cakey cookie, coconut and nuts. Yummm.

Oatmeal Raisin - Moist and chewy with walnuts for extra texture and flavor.

Peanut Butter - Drizzled with dark chocolate and with a chocolate base, this is a classic combo that isn't too rich but just right.
They all have that classic chewy, soft texture like mom used to make (and that I LOVE). All of them are seriously heavenly and you'd never know they were gluten free, or egg free and vegan even. They taste homemade and all the ingredients are ones I have in my own cupboards - that's amazing! I've had the hide the second cookie from each 2-pack just so we can avoid a sweets overload in one sitting! They were even a hit with my 18-year-old sister who can be a bit snarky and reluctant about trying anything considered remotely "natural" or gluten free for that matter. If these cookies can impress her, they can impress anyone!

Liz is clearly a perfectionist and has these amazing recipes down pat. Through her innovative recipes and artisan baking techniques, she's definitely on to something special that I haven't come across at all to this point. Liz is able to capture the classic flavor profiles of each one, without compromising on texture or additional filler ingredients. Each cookie is also a pretty generous size. You could easily split one cookie in half and be totally satisfied (half a cookie is one serving actually). Cookie 2-packs are also sealed air tight in additional plastic inside the decorative bags too. This helps keep the cookies fresh for longer, but you can also freeze them to extend their life and bring them out later if they even last that long!
Liz Lovely is also committed to green packaging to reduce their impact on the earth and to keep you safe. A few things they have implemented are BPA-free plastic packaging, biodegradable ribbon and peanuts, and 100% FSC-Certified Recycled Paper for things like invoices and packing slips.
