(Closed) Planet FLOPS Review and Giveaway Ends 6/5

You may remember the giveaway I hosted for Planet FLOPS in March. Well, this time I had the opportunity to actually review their flip flops and give ANOTHER pair away to one lucky winner! I've been wearing my new FLOPS out and about quite a bit this week. Let. Me. Tell. You. When they say natural Brazilian Rubber is more comfy? They're RIGHT!

Rubber trees are not cut down to harvest the rubber, and provide a renewable, sustainable source of income for those who reside in rain forests. Natural rubber is even bio-degradable and Planet FLOPS can be recycled. They do contain small amounts of other materials, including dyes and glues, but this is to ensure a durable and comfortable fit. Oh geez...try not to look at those chipped paint toenails too closely!! Instead, check out how perfect these fit. They have a great shape and fit wonderfully. Not only that, but they are heavier than your typical cheap pair of flip flops and certainly feel more durable. They are not stiff, but aren't overly flexible causing no support for your feet either. The high quality is evident, and I can tell the difference in comfort and cushion created by the natural rubber as opposed to synthetic materials.

Make sure you check out the size chart so you get the correct fit for your feet. I'm an 8.5-9 in womens usually. The size 9/10 was recommended to me, and my feet fit them perfectly. If I had size 9.5 feet, I really don't think they would have fit. So, be sure to find the size chart in the FAQ section and size up if in doubt.

Also, I noticed these are a bit "chalky" and give off a little cloudy residue on the surfaces of the FLOPS. It's not a color, and it wipes off (and won't damage anything!). You may notice this on some of the FLOPS photos on their website. I'm almost positive this is caused by the natural aspect of the rubber. It's actually quite nice to have this. As gross as this sounds, it kept my feet dry after walking around on a warm day, and they didn't become slippery or squeaky at all!

The Verdict: Super comfy, lots of fun colors, great for the environment, and recyclable too. I could go on and on! I really like this natural alternative to all the synthetic materials used in most summer footwear!
