Welcome to the When Seasons Change Blog Hop, hosted by And The Little Ones Too and Taking Time for Mommy! Each participating blogger (found on the linky below my Rafflecopter entry form) is hosting their own giveaway valued at $25 or more! My wonderful sponsor represents the perfect way to get the fall season started.....by getting organized!
More Time Moms is dedicated to helping families stay organized, therefore allowing moms more precious time with their families. For me, staying organized also means I save my sanity! For instance, if I don't write stuff down, I inevitably forget whatever I needed to remember and my days tends to fall apart. Sound familiar at all? More Time Moms can help you change all that.
I've found that I like to get a new paper calendar in January each year, just like most people. If I don't get one then (and rely solely on my google calendar and iPhone), I always find that I NEED one around September when activities and events start up for the fall and things just get crazy. Fall is when I get in my cleaning and organization mode. Forget Spring cleaning! And December is right around the corner and that is a crazy, crazy month for my family with multiple birthdays, Christmas, and lots of family gatherings. That's what I love most about the Family Organizer. The Family Organizer is a mom-made, mom-tested, #1 bestselling calendar that starts in September 2012 and goes all the way through December 2013. I despise the "school year" calendars that stop around September the following year. It doesn't make much sense to me!
I am LOVING this organizer/calendar. This spiral-bound, 15" x 22" wall calendar features huge, 2.1"x 3.5" lined rectangles for each day that are more than large enough for even the busiest family. It also features inspirational quotes, MTM recipes, a telephone, emergency and medical directory in the back, a large pocket in the back for important papers and bills, and small areas on various months for your own To do lists, kids chores, reminders and so much more. There are 260 appointment and reminder stickers as well, which are really coming in quite handy! I've never been a sticker person when it comes to calendars. I always throw them away. But this one is different! Each rectangle is large enough to actually put on the stickers! The first thing I did when I opened my calendar was fill out all the birthdays in my family with the little birthday cake stickers. Then I wrote whose birthday it was next to it.
With the Family Organizer I almost feel like I'm getting a head start on next year because dentist appointments, birthday reminders, vacations and other important occasions that I already know of can get on the calendar NOW. They don't have to sit on a piece of paper, waiting to get lost while I wait for January and a new calendar. And what about when this one is done in December 2013? I will have already purchased the next calendar in September 2013 so I'll be ahead of the game, again!
I also had the opportunity to check out the Fridge List. This magnetic grocery list and menu planner is the perfect addition to my newly organized routine in our new home. I've been trying to find a comprehensive product like this, but haven't had any luck until now! It measures 8.5" x 11" and has 48 sheets. It's a tearpad style with your meal-by-meal menu plan on top and your grocery list on the bottom. There's even a perforated line between the two so you can take your grocery list with you and leave the menu plan still up. Since we eat mostly at home, a meal-by-meal plan is ideal for my family and it goes well with my perfectionist need to stay totally organized. A meal plan is not just about dinner after all. It's easy to take a glance and see the entire day of meals all in one place so I can prep whatever I need to as needed and well in advance.
I really struggle with meal planning and have yet to tackle that side of household organization until now. I tend to make multiple trips to different grocery/natural food stores each week, and I seem to never have everything I need when I find that last-minute recipe that looks really good for dinner. It's important to plan ahead! Not just for my sanity, but for my wallet also. If it were just me, I probably wouldn't care for a menu planner at all. But since I care for my son and need to feed my husband, I need to cook healthy, well-rounded meals as much as possible. I admit, since I've never been good at meal planning, some meals are just plain lop-sided with plenty of odd pairings. I'm really hoping to work of that with this Fridge List and plan ahead!
The Fridge List has been a huge help and motivator in my ongoing, everlasting quest to be a more organized mom. In conjunction with the Family Organizer, I hope that I can do just that and so much more so I can be the best mom and wife I can be!
