Mixbook Photo Book Review & Discount Code!

As much as I love taking photos, I must admit that I'm horrible at doing anything with them. They're just sitting on SD cards, or stored online somewhere. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to takes some photos and actually make a photo book! At Mixbook, you can create your own completely customizable photo books, cards and calendars. Let your imagination run wild with Mixbook, because YOU have control and can create anything you desire!

For this review I created a photo book for my brother and sister-in-law who recently got married in April. They don't know I made this for them....hoping they don't see my review yet!! I should be seeing them soon and I'm excited to give them their photo book!
First, I selected the 11x8.5 landscape, hardcover photo book I was allowed to make, and found the theme I wanted to use (Garden Wedding). EVERY page can be changed in every way imaginable. Even the cover's color, details, and "stickers" (like the flower on the cover etc) can be changed.

There are many, many cool and convenient features that the Mixbook Editor offers while creating your photo book. One of those features is AutoMix that helps put all your photos into the photo book to help get you started and give you ideas. Due to the nature of the book I created, I didn't end up keeping any of what was created for me but it was really easy to start over. It was nice to get some ideas though.

There are tons of pre-made layouts with your theme already incorporated, or you can create you own. You can also switch any of the layouts around throughout the album to accommodate the photos you want to use next. I used the included layouts that automatically came up when I selected the theme for my photo book, but also used a few of the more fancy layouts that were designed with more pizazz and details. You can change or add a photo layout which are organized according to how many photos you want to use for a particular page. Below are some of the details that were already in the layouts I selected. Keep in mind EVERY individual part of these can also be changed, rotated, moved or deleted too!

I really enjoyed going through the book and adding the details I wanted. Overall it honestly took me a long time (we're talking HOURS) to create the photo book, but that's mainly because of my perfectionist personality. The average person could create a photo book in less than an hour depending on what you're doing. I thought the Mixbook Editor software was pretty incredible. Since this was my first time creating a photo book, I really had no idea what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy they make the process, and how many options they give you to support you along the way. The actual photo book is very high quality too.

Mixbook offers a sharing feature where you can invite others to edit your photo book and share in the fun. Although I did not use the feature, I would imagine this would be a really great way to compile photos from several people that all attended the same event. Every camera picks up a different photo and expression so it would be neat to put a photo book together this way!

I always intend on making scrapbooks but never find the time! I am starting to like photobooks more for this reason.
