About the Designer...

My name is Rachel, and I am enjoying my independent life in Salisbury, MD after finishing graduate school this past year. Though most people grimace or give their condolences when I explain that I have an M.A. in English Literature and teach basic writing at a local community college, I absolutely love writing, reading, grammar, and teaching. As much as I adore my day job, I really get excited when I have the time (and believe me, I make time for it every chance I get) to sew.  If I recall correctly, I first started sewing when I was twelve, but my passion for stitches really started to develop about four years ago. I just decided to make a quilt one day and, since then, I’ve just slowly added to my collection of unique creations and original patterns for quilts, purses, and aprons – the last being my favorite thing to make at this point in time! I owe quite a bit of my talent to my mother and my grandmother who have taught me all they know about sewing. My father is also a big influence in my work because I tend to channel him in my creative process by refusing to follow the rules when it comes to patterns or the directions. My favorite things to make are things that I come up with on my own, things that I’m not quite sure what they are going to look like when they’re finished. It makes the whole process very exciting. I just really love being able to create things that bring warmth, joy, or happiness to someone else.

Oh how I love aprons! At RachelNicole you will find amazing and unique aprons that will make you love your kitchen again! After all, you have to do the dishes so you might as well look cute at the same time! :)

I received 2 aprons from Rachel! This is the beautiful Adult's Blue Spring Double Flounce Apron. It features a cotton blue floral print on a white background, and a coordinating light blue floral print on a darker blue background. The tie back waist accentuates your waistline and would make any woman look 10 lbs. lighter! The "flounce" part of the apron starts high on the thigh. It gives you such a vintage feminine feel and makes you feel so fun and flirty! The two materials together give this apron a lot of dimension and personality. I LOVE this apron. I also must say I notice that Rachel is very precise and might be a bit of a perfectionist with her work (takes one to know one!!). Every stitch on both the aprons are PERFECT. The seams are so professional. I'm so amazed!

I also received the Children's Batik Petal Apron. I had my little sister (she's 7!) model this for me. She was really excited to have such an important job. :) This apron is not your average childrens apron at all. Each of the 5 "petals" are only attached at the top on the purple waistband that can be tied in a bow in the back. So they move independently when worn. I've never seen anything like this! It's so unique! Not to mention the print is really neat too. So colorful and fun for kids. Once again, this apron was sewn with such precision and perfection, it's almost unbelievable. Rachel does not take her work lightly!
