About the Designer...

Hi! My name is Jan. I’ve been married to my college sweetheart for 30 years and have two wonderful grown children. I have a passion for all things creative... I paint, make handmade greeting cards, bake, enjoy photography, and make unique, handmade jewelry. In 2010 I opened an online shop for my jewelry as a way to raise awareness and funds for a non-profit organization which is close to my heart: Africa Water and Life. I named my shop Jewelry4Change, since each purchase contributes to changing lives of individuals in Ethiopia. I use beads, pearls, charms, and wire wrapping to create one of a kind pieces. Jewelry4Change is a beautiful jewelry Etsy shop full of very unique pieces. No two are alike, and you can rest assured no one will have the same piece. You can find necklaces, bracelets, earrings, jewelry sets, and kid jewelry for formal events, weddings, gifts, and just everyday, fun pieces too!

I received the Shimmering Amethyst Swarovski Crystal Earrings from Jan's shop to review. My first impression when I actually got to see the earrings in person was a serious gasp. They are beautiful! I don't even know if there are words to describe them. The quality of the materials are top-notch, the crystals are sparkly and shine brilliantly. They hang delicately from my ears and make me feel so pretty! I LOVE them. They certainly "pop" when paired with a casual black tee and jeans, or anything dressy too. I am a mom first, so jeans and a tee are the norm for me. It's nice to be able to step it up so easily by just putting on beautiful earrings!

Because Jan's pieces are all one-of-a-kind, you won't find this exact pair in her shop (I know, you're jealous!). However, Jan offers other beautiful crystal jewelry in many colors and styles. And remember, she does accept custom requests too!

I'd really like to see Jan expand her "jewelry sets" section to include even more matching/coordinating sets. I love the Ocean Inspired set and am very curious to see what other sets she can create! What I love most about Jan and her shop is that she runs her shop for such a great cause, Africa Water and Life. Check it out when you get a chance!
