Reusable Lunch Boxes & More from ReUseIt.com {Review}

Some disposable products are becoming a thing of the past. More and more companies are offering reusable options that are better for the planet and your wallet too. A unique one-stop shop for reusable products is ReUseIt.com. One way we can all probably cut back in terms of reducing waste is our lunches, and they can certainly help you in that area too. They offer a large selection of reusable lunch boxes, bags, totes, water bottles, tableware, kitchen storage, napkins, utensils, sandwich and snack bags, and lots more.

For this review I received the BlueAvocado Chil Clutch Insulated Reusable Bag in the Navy AvoDot print. Isn't it super cute?!
BlueAvocado itself is an amazing company started by three women entrepreneurs from Austin, Texas. They want to empower consumers to make better choices in reducing their carbon footprint, all in a stylish, fun way through their products. This bag is not only darn cute, but in particular it's very eco-friendly since it's polyester materials is made from 50% Repreve recycled fibers from plastic bottles. This product is also sustainable by eliminating the need for plastic and paper bags over the life of the bag and it also promotes a more sustainable path for plastic too. This bag is insulated which means it's perfect for your cold products while grocery shopping, for picnics, take-out meals, and even a nice big lunch with extra room for dessert to share!  It features inside PVC-free insulation, a zipper top, three small d-rings for keys etc, and pockets too. It's also machine washable which is a bonus since we all know bacteria transfers and grows over time.

This bag is surprisingly lightweight and easy to carry, despite not being a shoulder bag like you normally see with a reusable bag. The handle feels soft and sturdy in your hands too. Because of the insulation and convenient zipper, this is a great choice for those warm days this summer. This is the first reusable shopping bag I've ever used that has some structure to it, and also the first insulated large reusable bag I've owned. I totally feel like I've been missing out! Even though I'm relatively close to all my favorite grocery stores, the super hot days are no fun and I often worry about my eggs and meat especially. As you can see I was able to pack a lot of groceries in the bag on a recent trip to Trader Joes. I didn't buy any meat this time, but this bag helped keep my cold goodies perfectly chilled for the ride home. The only thing that is hard to fit inside is anything that is tall and shouldn't lay on it's side in the bag. A small carton of orange juice for example has a hard time fitting since the zipper goes higher on each side, but lower in the middle due to the zipper. My one suggestion for this bag would be that I wish the handle wasn't incorporated into the existing silhouette, but separately as a new piece above the current highest point. Otherwise I think the quality is great and the design is very cute and appealing! If this is any indication of what other products are like from ReUseIt, then I'm totally thrilled. This is a great find!
