The Willow Store is an online shop with a variety of products for every member of the family. From cloth diapers and accessories to nursing pads, children's toys and everything in between, they've truly thought of everything when it comes to offering eco-friendly products! The Willow store is deeply concerned about the Earth, and seeks to help families discover reusable products to ensure our future is a bright one. Since everything is made here in the USA, you can feel very proud about supporting this earth-friendly company!

I've reviewed the Sprout Change Starter Kit in the past, and now I have the privilege of sharing about the Sprout Change Training Pants!

Just like their shells (diaper covers), these have a unique adjustment system, which means you won't end up with snaps digging into your kiddo's thighs like with one-size cloth diaper/trainer systems. These training pants fit from 15-50 pounds and you can choose from Organic or StayDry materials for the inside (I received StayDry). The PUL on the outside is just like a cloth diaper. Combining the PUL with the multiple layers of absorbency on the inside, you have an excellent trainer for the potty training beginner or for great protection during naps and nighttime. I tried to locate the information on how many layers of absorbency are in these training pants but instead I was able to sneak a peak in the front little opening. It appears to be a 3-layer microfiber insert that was sewn underneath the layer of super soft microfleece. This is pretty much the same concept as the pocket diapers that I love so dearly...without the stuffing!!

The legs and waist are adjusted independently, giving every child their own customized fit. On each tab there is a little pocket with a snap closure. As you can see above, there are 2 small buttons and 2 elastics inside this little pocket - one for the waist, and one for the leg on the side you are working on. Simply pull the elastic out until you have the right fit and put the buttons through the appropriate elastic hole. Once you're done, do the same on the other side just for the leg elastic since you only need to adjust the waist from one side. It seems more complicated than it actually is! It's really quite simple and takes no time at all. I adjusted Buddy's training pants in less than 2 minutes while he was lying down, halfway in them already!

It's all in the details with this trainer. It has a beautifully soft inside and thick elastic casings that provide for a very comfortable fit at the waist and around the legs. The coolest part about this trainer? It's an AIO cloth diaper too!! Yep, it can be used as a diaper prior to use as a trainer which means you're getting even more for your money! The super absorbent microfiber sewn-in insert makes this an excellent option if you're just starting out your potty training journey and you need normal cloth diaper absorption, but want the pull-up-and-down feature of underwear too. It would be fantastic for naps and nighttime too (with an added Super Saver Insert if extra absorbency is needed).

Here's what it looks like!! It's pretty darn trim considering all the layers of absorbency inside. The fit is similar to the Sprout Change diaper system which is really no surprise since that cut and style fits so well already. Buddy seems super comfortable in it! It has washed well and takes a tad bit longer to dry since essentially it's an AIO. That's a small price to pay for such a convenient reusable product! The only drawback I see is that the microfleece is not going to allow Buddy to feel too much wetness which is important for potty training progress. For that reason I feel these are best if you are transitioning to potty training fairly early in age. (Edited to include: The organic version is better for felling wetness than the StayDry I received. The StayDry is sometimes preferred for kids who have sensitive skin and need that option for long periods like naps or nighttime. Thanks for the info Catherine!) However, in a pinch we'll certainly be using our Sprout Change Training Pants a lot too!

Price: Sprout Change Training Pants - $18.95 for StayDry, $19.95 for Organic

Wow clothe diapers have sure been revolutionized from when my oldest was small back in the day of pins! Super product!

Great review! Thank you!

For the most natural feeling of wetness, the organic version is the best. You will get the feeling with the staydry, however not quite as pronounced. Some parents like the staydry for overnight, or if the child has sensitivities to wetness and needs the trainers for an extended timeframe. :)

Thanks for letting me know Catherine! I added that to my post near the bottom for all to see. I now understand why you have the two options and how both are great depending on your situation!

I love the adjustments with the elastics! It looks so easy and allows for different sizes of children! I love the vibrant blue color and love the fact that you can get snap extenders for larger children!

I'm very intrigued. They sure look a lot like a side-snap diaper! But the snaps would be handy for whoops of the #2 variety.
