"Made With Love" Event: LullabyLovelies Review and Giveaway Ends 4/3

About the Designer...
I live in Southwestern Minnesota with a wonderfully supportive husband and three lively children (4), (2), and an infant who is a couple of weeks old. I started making oversized receiving blankets when I realized that I could not buy them in the store large enough to swaddle my kids after the first few months of life (I realized quickly that an inadequate swaddle meant inadequate sleep…I like sleep, and so my journey began). I started making the burp cloths when I found myself folding the commercial receiving blankets and draping them over my shoulder as burp cloths to prevent that angelic spit up from covering me and smelling like the walking dead; the commercial burp cloths were small and my little angels could spit right through them. So began my journey to make a burp cloth that my children could not spit through and was large enough to provide full coverage even if they squirmed their way down my shoulder.

I started making the washcloths, crib sheets, and pack ‘n play sheets when I couldn’t find anything soft and thick enough in the stores for a price I was willing to pay. I have found these items make great gifts and that you can never have enough receiving blankets, sheets, or burp cloths (especially at 2:00 a.m. when those little angels decide to test your sanity with wetting through and spitting up). I have just started selling these items a few months ago as friends who I give them to as gifts subtly hint they would love it if I could make them a couple more. I am in the beginning stages of marketing a new gift line of daily living necessities for an infant, which include a crib/toddler sheet, a pack ‘n play sheet, an oversized receiving blanket, burp cloths, and wash cloths. These are the items that I have found I needed on a daily basis and not those cute but overpriced crib skirts and other items they market to us susceptible first time mothers. I strive to provide quality items at an affordable price and welcome any input into items in the new line that other mothers find to be a daily necessity!

Ginny from LullabyLovelies really understands the needs of parents. All those receiving blankets from big brands? Way too small and you certainly can't swaddle even a newborn in them. She definitely knows this as an experienced mommy of 3!

I received an Oversized (X-Large) Receiving Blanket and Burp Cloth Gift Set in the Cars/Lightening McQueen print! I had no idea what print I was going to receive so you can imagine my delight when I saw this. Buddy LOVES Cars and Lightening McQueen! The blanket is a 40" x 40", single-sided, one-layer piece of flannel that is serged all the way around. The flannel is very nice and washed well. Buddy is my little hot body who sweats easily so I like that this blanket is large enough to cover him, but also thin enough to breathe so he doesn't overheat. This is especially important with newborns and infants! It's certainly large enough to swaddle an infant with enough left over to tuck and secure. Buddy likes cuddling with his new blanket on the couch when he's a little cold!

The burp cloths are also a very generous size at 12" x 20". There are 3 layers to them: Matching flannel on one side, Diaper Flannel on the inside (that fluffs the more you wash it) and Birdseye Pique Diaper Cloth on the outside. These were also serged together around the edges. I really like the burp cloths. Not only are they huge, but you can feel the texture of the Birdseye Pique Diaper Cloth that should absorb and "catch" all the spit-up etc of your baby. With Buddy, I never liked anything for burp cloths except for well-washed prefolds because they absorbed so much and saved my clothes from constant staining. These, however, will be excellent because they are a similar material to prefolds on the one side, and so cute on the other!
