"Made With Love" Event: Woolen Wonders by Ellen Review and Giveaway Ends 4/3

About the Designer...
I am a lifelong crafter, got a sewing machine for Christmas when I was eight and haven't stopped sewing since and I love making something from nothing!  My mom always told me to "make do".  So anyway, I am a nurse in my real job and a crafter whenever I make time!  I live in central Missouri where if you don't like the weather, sit tight and it will change in a day or so!  I quilt, love to create mosaic things, absolutely love working with felted wool, am a gardener, sew, knit, crochet, weave (I have my grandmother's rug loom which takes up most of my spare bedroom) and love to decorate.  I am the mom of a great 17 year old son  and we have a dog Rachel, and three cats--Mama Kitty, Baby Kitty and Frosty.  On my days off, I love to thrift shop to find great things to makeover! My sister Sarah is probably my biggest inspirational force.  She thinks she is not crafty, but she so is!

I received the Amethyst Felted Wool Flower Pin Brooch. Made from an upcycled lambswool sweater and upcycled vintage jewelry, this is truly a "repurposed" accessory! It's approximately 4 inches wide and has a pin attached to the back. You could wear this on a more casual top to dress it up a bit, or you could even pin it on your purse to give it a new look. The purple wool is a really deep purple and would go great against black or other warm colors. I'm SO impressed with this pin!

Ellen is very good at what she does! Just browsing her Pins section you can see she has an eye for making great work and beautiful pieces. I love this Red Rose Felted Wool Pin Brooch too. Isn't is so awesome! Please, someone needs to buy this so I'm not tempted anymore. :)

I love that Ellen enjoys taking things and making them into something new and beautiful. Her pins are certainly very unique and meticulously crafted. She has a baby headband that is just darling too. I really think she make some more! There are a lot of mamas that would enjoy them!
