About the Designer...
Hi!  My name is Sarah and I am the owner of Simplicity Cosmetics, a handcrafted mineral makeup company.  I live in north Texas with my husband Joe, 2 year old son Eli, dog Hiccup, and cat Baxter.  :)  I started using mineral makeup when I wanted a more natural look for my wedding over 7 years ago.  I started creating my own line about 6 years ago and have never used traditional cosmetics since!  I am recently decided to really put effort into my etsy shop and I have been blessed with many new wonderful customers. I am committed to using as few ingredients to make my creations as possible, I don't use fillers to bulk up products.  You will never find chemicals, dyes, or bismuth in anything I make!  I love creating new shades, it's a fun challenge to get a shade from my imagination to reality.

I've been using a well known brand of mineral foundation from a boutique shop for the last few years. The price was such a killer that I never even had the opportunity to try their pricey blush or eyeshadow. Since ordering from Simplicity Cosmetics in May, I've been using their foundation ($9.99), blush ($7.99), and eyeshadow ($4.99) on a daily basis and I'm so happy with my experience. Yes, those are really the prices! So impressive! Simplicity Cosmetics are pretty natural and Sarah stays away from uneccessary ingredients and fillers. She also discloses all ingredients used on each product listing. You definitely can't say that of all cosmetic companies. The Toast Eyeshadow is really the review product sent in my order, but I like each product I've tried so I wanted to share a little about my experience with each one in my review below.

What you won't find in Simplicity Cosmetics...

No Parabens
No Bismuth
No Micronized or Nano minerals
No Dyes
No Cornstarch

First off, my fair skin needs a very light foundation, so I went with the Ivory Mineral Foundation. When I first applied it to my face, I was shocked at how pale my skin was! BUT, I quickly learned that this color is the RIGHT color for my face, and I'd been using a shade slightly too dark with the other brand. This also means I got great coverage and my whole face was the same shade, covering imperfections and uneven skin tones (which makes me happy!). The foundation gives a medium to heavy coverage matte finish, but can really give you less if you want. It all depends on how little or how much is on your brush. A little goes a LONG way with mineral makeup. It looks SO natural and not at all cake-y or heavy. It also lasts all day, and doesn't smear, melt, or look funny by night either. It still looks fresh!

Once I added a bit of the Peony Mineral Blush I also ordered, I looked a bit more like myself. :) I really LOVE this blush. It gives a very natural rosy pink and is really light. Because it's so light, it also works well as an all-over face "glow" I guess you could say. I use just a little more for cheeks. It compliments my fair skin very well, and I like that it has a matte finish with no shimmer. I only like shimmer on my eyes, unless I'm going out for a dressy evening...which rarely happens anyway! :P

The Toast Mineral Eyeshadow is a gorgeous brown with a low shimmer. I absolutely agree with Sarah, the photos don't this shade any justice! It should be a staple for every woman. I use this on top of a neutral/nude base in my crease. It's the perfect shade, and doesn't go on too dark like my old color used to. I don't have to tone it down before applying at all! I can wear this all day, everyday, and not look like I'm wearing a ton of eyeshadow, which is so not my goal. I just like feeling pretty, and Simplicity Cosmetics certainly helps me reach that goal. I love browsing her eyeshadows because there are so many colors I want to try! Some of them even double as eyeliners because they're darker.

So, HOW much better do I look with my new makeup? Here's what happened with Hubby. He kept telling me I looked so good the first couple days I used only Simplicity Cosmetics, and he kept asking me what I changed. I switched back to my old makeup for a day just for kicks and it turns out it's the new makeup that he loves so much! I love it, and so does my hubby!
