(Closed) Greenchild Creations Fitted Cloth Diaper Review and Giveaway Ends 5/4

Greenchild Creations is an Etsy shop where you will find uniquely designed fitted cloth diapers and other crafty creations like pin cushions and handmade natural soap. Anne is the face behind this fun little shop, and her inspiration comes from her son, Kaiden, who has Down Syndrome. I encourage you all to read about her son's journey and how she took charge of her son's health despite the lack of support from doctors. It will inspire you to be more engaged in your child's health and well-being, and to always question the course of actions their doctor's wish to take! Anne sent me her One Size Bamboo Fitted with pins to review! Yes, I said PINS! This was a new adventure for me (and a lot of mamas I'm sure), and I eagerly waited to try it on Buddy. Unfortunately, Buddy was more scared of the pins than I was, and he started to cry and get really upset as I was putting in the second pin. I didn't poke him, I promise!! Lucky for me, I was able to snap some photos for you. Lucky for him, I took it off after a couple minutes so he would stop crying! I'm pretty sure he thought the pins were going to poke him! :(

The One Size Bamboo Fitted is made with a bamboo velour outer, a bamboo fleece inner, and a bamboo velour inner pocket. It is prewashed prior to cutting the material for the diaper to prevent shrinking. After doing 3 washes of my own prior to trying it on Buddy I experienced no shrinking that I could see, and the bamboo looked just as great as when I received it! This bamboo is AMAZING! It's beautifully soft, thick and very absorbent! You will need a waterproof cover with this diaper. Because it's so trim, this fitted should have no problem fitting under any type of cover. It's also a one size diaper, meaning it's fully adjustable to accommodate a newborn all the way to potty training.

I really like the innovative design of this diaper! Anne created this diaper because she needed a solution for her heavy wetting son. The front flap that you see above on the right side, is folded to lay inside of the diaper. I decided to fold it down and tuck it into the pocket as shown below, but it's just as effective to lay it on top of the pocket. You can also increase the absorbency further by adding inserts into the pocket as well.

Now with the front flap in the pocket, you can adjust the rise by putting more, or less of the flap into the pocket (or by laying more or less on top of the pocket). I think there is a little trial and error with getting the correct rise for your baby. As you'll see in the photos farther down in my review, I didn't get it right the first time!

For the very short time this diaper was on Buddy, I managed to get a few photos. However, I realized very quickly that I needed to fold in more material to shorten the rise. I had a bit of a saggy bottom! I wish I could've fixed it and included photos, but I had a VERY uncooperative kiddo! :(

Despite the fact that I folded the rise too long for Buddy, I still got the correct fit on the waist. The waist in adjusted using the elastic at the back, and by pulling the side tabs around to the front, and pinning. The elastic in the back was very gentle on Buddy's skin, and the gathering of the bamboo from the elastic made for a soft waistline! What I love about this design is that you're not limited to snaps or one strip of velcro to get a great fit. You really can get an amazing fit for any sized baby with a little practice, and a couple pins. I'm hoping to try again with the diaper, but if not, I'll definitely use it on my next baby!

The Verdict: This diaper is beautifully constructed and the bamboo is simply gorgeous. I can tell if would've had a nice trim fit while being very absorbent if I put it on right. While I may not be able to use pins with such an observant child, it's not as terrifying as you may think! For the mamas still a little weary about pins, Anne is currently working on perfecting a snap design for her fitteds too. I'm excited to see what she comes up with!
