{Sponsor Spotlight & Review} Pourty Potty : The Potty That Pours!

When we first started potty training, we gave Buddy several different options so he would be more likely to go in a potty that he chose. We wanted him to be excited! The potty that got the most use was a little blue potty from Baby Bjorn. It was very simple and effective, but had a few issues that made the process not as much fun for me. And then I found a product with the solution to my problems!
The Pourty potty looks very similar to our old little blue potty, but has the features I was wishing the old had one, but didn't. My first pet peeve was a short splash guard, and my second was how messy pouring out the contents was. So many times I'd find urine at the base of the potty because of the low splash guard, but the Pourty solves all those problems! The Pourty features a wide seat and base, high splash guard, and is easy to pour so nothing gets on your hands or anything else. That is the worst part about the potty training process...the mess in the bathroom!

I was initially worried that the missing section of the seat at the back would cause an unstable sitting surface, but this is definitely not the case in our experience. Buddy is comfortable using it and doesn't mention it at all.

By now at 3 1/2 (and yes, still not fully trained but very close), this potty is getting a bit short for Buddy as you might be able to tell! However, it's an excellent choice for us when we go to grandma's house and stay in a hotel for a few days with each frequent visit. I don't want my son going near those potties! When he has used them in the past, he inevitably touches the toilet with his hands or boy parts (they're tall potties) and I get all squeamish! (Yes, germ-freak, I know!) Because the Pourty is easy for me to clean on the go and I know only my son has been sitting on it, my mind is put at ease when using the potty away from home.

The risk of buying a fancy schmantzy potty and having your child not like it is just simply not worth it. Your child really isn't going to care how much you spent on it or how high tech it looks. You really don't need and aren't going to want one with tons of bells and whistles. The simplicity and affordability of the Pourty potty make this my number one choice while traveling and needing a potty!

  3. I would choose blue. Thank you for telling us that the slash guard is high. I also like that it is attached!!! The one used for my older son comes off for girls, but most of the time the thing would just fall off anyway. Or he would yank it off the potty.

  14. I love that the pourty has a high splash guard. So many seats that I've checked into that don't have a very high one. I watch a few boys, and that sure comes in handy!
