New Jammies offers parents a whole selection of 100% Organic Cotton pajamas and sleepwear for your kiddos and babies. Staying away from unnecessary chemicals can be a challenging task when it comes to apparel. Thankfully there are lots of options appearing as companies are taking note and responding to the needs of parents. New Jammies' pajamas come in a variety of fun collections that will make the bedtime routine a welcome experience for even the wildest nighttime youngster.
New Jammies sent us a pair of their Turtle Snuggly PJs. I ordered a size 5 (even though Buddy is only 3 years old) since he is at the tail end of the size chart for a size 4T. Besides, I wanted to account for minimal shrinkage in the wash and leave a little room for growth too. The teal, orange and green turtles are a fun, bold, colorful print for kids. This particular print comes in sizes 12 months to size 8 in kids. That means you could easily get matching pairs for your young kiddos!
The top is a nice length, and will definitely work well for a tall, thin child. The cotton is very, very soft, and a nice medium weight. The arms fit safe and snug, but allow a little wiggle room for comfort. The orange around the wrists and neck ensure even more comfort for your little one. The bottoms are a little long (which I expected considering the larger size we got!), but the orange cuffs at the bottom keeps them right at his ankles and are still snug around his legs. The elastic waist is a wider elastic, and generously sized so it shouldn't cut in and cause discomfort.
I'm thrilled about these pajamas and Buddy seems very comfortable in them. When they're in the wash and he wants to wear them he gets quite upset! Buddy calls these his "turtle 'jamas". Seriously, I wish they came in my size! I'd totally wear them and melt away into a restful night of comfy slumber! Overall I think the design of these are very nicely done too, and the quality craftsmanship is evident.
I've known for quite some time why organic cotton is better for you. Cotton is one of the dirtiest crops that exists, and heavily filled with pesticides. I also doubt there are a very many restrictions on what cotton can and cannot be treated with due to the fact that you don't ingest cotton like food. Check out this comparison of conventional vs. organic cotton to see exactly what happens to cotton from seed to harvest. I've always been a big supporter of organic materials, but this really got my attention. Your skin is your bodies largest organ and it's very sensitive, so why on earth would I want to put conventional or synthetic textiles on it?! If there's an organic option out there for whatever type of apparel you're looking for, I suggest going organic if you can afford it, especially for children. For children's pajamas, cotton is best for natural breathability and comfortable sleeping - but go with organic cotton to limit chemical exposure for your children. New Jammies are also not treated with any flame retardants. I'm so excited to see a company that doesn't just make their pajamas to be cute. Yes, New Jammies are not only cute but totally just 100% Organic Cotton which means your kids are sleeping in total safety!
New Jammies has a great variety of organic pajamas from size preemie all the way to size 8 (although there are plans to expand sizes to 10 and 12 this Fall!). Here's just a very small sampling of a few fun prints from their website!
