Essential Swimwear: Review, Discount & Giveaway! Ends 5/23 (US/CAN)

Essential Swimwear is the place to go for stylish, hip, modern, modest, and flattering swimwear this summer. Have you taken the plunge and gone shopping for your suit yet? I know it's not always the most fun experience for women, but Essential Swimwear makes it a whole lot easier with flattering suits for every body type.

Essential Swimwear was started by Brittney who was frustrated by the lack of good-fitting, modest swimwear on the market. So, she pulled out her sewing machine and made her own! Soon enough, her suits were a huge hit with friends and she decided to open Essential Swimwear. Her designs each season are now manufactured to keep up with the increasing demand for her suits, and to increase the already high quality of her work. I love seeing a true entrepreneur go after her dreams and watch them blossom into reality!
I chose to review the Indigo Ruched Halter Top and the Indigo High Waist Bottoms. I'm so thrilled with this suit! You get to order each piece separately so you can order different sizes if you need too! It also comes in three other colors: Ocean, Cappuccino, and Plum. Let me tell you some details about each piece.

The Indigo Ruched Halter Top is darling. First of all the indigo color is just gorgeous and works well with my very fair skin tone. I love the gathered ruching details all over the front to hide my not-so-flat, full-of-extra-skin midsection. It really supports my stomach and flattens it quite a bit too. It almost reminds me of an expensive shaping top with how snug and flattering it fits, which means it's the best I've felt in a swimsuit since I had Buddy more than 3 years ago! This top is pretty long so you can place the bottom of it where ever it's most comfortable and so that it provides enough camoflauging gathers in all the right places. It has a nice amount of stretch, stays exactly where you put it, and doesn't ride up either. And, paired with the High Waist Bottoms I'll be talking about in a moment, there's no chance of any belly flab making an appearance at all! It's just like wearing a one-piece but you have more options by buying each piece separately. With the added detail of the cute halter tie at the neck, you simply can't go wrong with the Ruched Halter Top this summer.

Here's another shot of the top's detail. The gathering adds volume to my otherwise very small bust too. The front is fully lined with built-in seamless soft cups, and there's even extra lining to add your own padding or cup inserts for added volume (which I definitely will be doing since I can use all the help I can get!). Essential Swimwear does sell Bra Cup Inserts which add a bit of more volume if you need it, and the extra lining pocket discreetly hides them so no one will ever know. Even with my very small bust, there are no gaps between my skin and the suit. It fits! This particular design is great for small-busted and all sizes in between!

It's all in the details! The High Waist Bottoms do indeed have a very high waist. At first I thought, "what are they thinking??" but then I figured it out! It always bugs me when swimwear bottoms cut into my hips and majorly accentuate my lovely love handles. Bring on the muffin top that looks horribly obvious under the swim top! Yay! Not. The high waist actually smooths out the bulges and extra mommy-tummy-goodness I've acquired in recent years. Paired with the top that gently sucks it all in, it's the best suit for hiding that tummy! You can also fold down the bottoms to create a stylish hipster bottom too if you want. They are extremely comfortable and flatter the rear nicely as well. Again, swimwear tends to cut into any extra flab you have, but these are cut wide enough on the rear, and low on the leg that no cutting in happens! They just fit, which is so nice! I like wearing the top pretty low on my hips so just a little bit of the bottoms show like you would see in suits from the 60's. It's so much fun! I'd share a photo of my rear, but really? Who wants to see my out-of-shape rear? I didn't think so. :)

As you can tell, I love, love, love my swimsuit from Essential Swimwear. I actually feel beautiful in it, and I don't have to worry about anything showing that I don't want to show! I also ordered the Broadway Ruffles Halter Top from last seasons line and cannot believe how great it fits too. It's equally adorable and the print still camoflagues my stomach pretty well too. Feminine, totally cute, and on sale for just $14.99! I'll be back next time I need a swimsuit for sure! You just can't beat the high quality modest designs, reasonable pricing, and free exchanges. The nylon/spandex material, flattering cuts, and ruching details create the perfect combination for the ultimate flattering swim suit this summer!
