About the Designer...

Hi!  My name is Jennie, I am from Yellow Plum Blossoms, where I blog about my 3 rowdy boys, great recipe finds, and the lovely items I make for my etsy shop!  I have been married to my best friend for 6 years now.  We live in the upper Mid West where winters are long and filled with lots of sewing {it's about the only thing that keeps me sane some days!} I make handmade modern gifts for Mom's and their little ones.  I love to make cute little baby quilts by request.  I mostly make things that I am interested in right now.  With having 3 little boys...a lot of the things I make are geared towards Mom's with little ones!  But if you ask me to make you something special, I won't hesitate!  I love the challenge. Believe it or not, I just started sewing May 2010.  I was pregnant with our 3rd and really wanted to make him a special baby quilt with all the beautiful fabric that was out there.  So I asked for a sewing machine for Mother's Day.  And the wonderful Hubby delivered!!! :)  I taught myself to sew...yes that's right, never taken a class or had any help.  All my family is in a different state, so I had to be super motivated to learn to sew by myself.  It's such a stress reliever for me. My inspiration comes from my kids, and their needs now.  I always thought it would be really cute to have a ruffly diaper bag for a boy...so I made one! Like I mentioned earlier, I have only been sewing for about a year, but I decided to open up my own Etsy store last August.  I didn't have the guts to actually list anything in it until December though!

Review...

If you were to tell me this mama only started sewing a year ago before I received my review items, I probably wouldn't believe you. Jennie clearly has a natural talent, and creativity is her "thing". I'm very impressed with her beautiful line of gifts for baby, and bags for mom at Yellow Plum Blossoms! 

This Ruffled Makeup Bag is so cute! It measures approximately 8.5" x 6.5" x 2.5", and is the perfect size to fit your all your makeup for a weekend out of town (which I do quite often to visit my family!). It's also great for the diaper bag so all MY things are swimming at the bottom. I can just reach in, grab this little bag, and there's everything I need inside! Mom needs to have something fun for herself, right? Here's something fun to brighten your day! Seriously, it's so cute, it puts a smile on my face when I see it.

Not only does this bag have all these adorable hearts everywhere, but the girly ruffle gives it a flirty flare too. What I like most about the ruffle is that it lies pretty flat against the bag, so it won't stick out and got caught on anything in the diaper bag. I also like that the bottom is squared so the bag will stand freely, and the zipper completely seals all the contents, so not even your eyeliner can escape! The inside lining is a bright teal with dark teal circles cotton. It also feels like it has a layer of medium weight fleece between the layers like the other bags in her shop. This bag is made very well, and has really been quite useful so far!

This crayon roll up features 16 crayon slots, a grosgrain ribbon for a tie closure when rolled up, and entertainment value for any curios child! Buddy has been having tons of fun with this crayon roll! It's been great for helping me teach him that crayons have a place once we're done coloring, and he enjoys the tedious task (for a 2 1/2 year old anyway!) of putting them back in each slot. I'm happy to say the quality and craftsmanship of this crayon roll up is great, and feels very durable and strong. It should definitely hold up as a great way to store crayons while on-the-go for your kiddos for years to come.

I love checking out Jennie's line-up of items in her shop! She uses such beautiful materials that are so bright and happy. Based on what I've seen, she'll certainly go far and reach her goals with her shop!
