About the Designer...

My name is Rachel, and I am enjoying my independent life in Salisbury, MD after finishing graduate school this past year. Though most people grimace or give their condolences when I explain that I have an M.A. in English Literature and teach basic writing at a local community college, I absolutely love writing, reading, grammar, and teaching. As much as I adore my day job, I really get excited when I have the time (and believe me, I make time for it every chance I get) to sew.  If I recall correctly, I first started sewing when I was twelve, but my passion for stitches really started to develop about four years ago. I just decided to make a quilt one day and, since then, I’ve just slowly added to my collection of unique creations and original patterns for quilts, purses, and aprons – the last being my favorite thing to make at this point in time! I owe quite a bit of my talent to my mother and my grandmother who have taught me all they know about sewing. My father is also a big influence in my work because, most of the time, I channel him in my creative process by refusing to follow the rules when it comes to patterns or the directions. My favorite things to make are things that I come up with on my own - things that I’m not quite sure what they are going to look like when they’re finished. It makes the whole process very exciting. I just really love being able to create things that bring warmth, joy, or happiness to someone else.

Review...

I have the wonderful pleasure of reviewing another beautiful apron from RachelNichole. This work of art is called the Adult Kitchen Diamond Tiered Apron. Like all Rachel's aprons and other work, everything is unique and she usually doesn't make the same fabric/pattern combination twice. That means each apron you see in her Etsy shop is one-of-a-kind!

This is a half-apron, and ties around the waist. The tie is generous in length and makes for a cute bow in the back. There are 4 tiers, all sewn in layers on a black fabric panel underneath. Each tier is free flowing and was sewn to create a ruffly feel. I also absolutely adore the print. The black and white is so chic and fun!

This apron is very flirty without being too over the top and makes cooking in the kitchen a fun activity rather than a daily chore! The high quality is no surprise, and Rachel clearly holds high standards for all her products. The stitching is impeccable, clean, straight, and very professional, and I highly recommend checking out all her aprons for yourself or as a gift. At only $18 for this particular apron, the style, quality, and affordability can't be beat! She has many designs and patterns that are uniquely her own, and will certainly suit your personality! She even has mother/daughter aprons sets too!
