Bolthouse Farms Review and Giveaway Ends 4/19

I've seen Bolthouse Farms products before while browsing at the grocery store. I was excited to learn I would be receiving free product coupons from Bolthouse Farms to try a few products of my choosing!

 ~ Beverages ~ 

The first beverage I chose was the Strawberry Banana Fruit Smoothie. I always LOVE the combination of strawberries and bananas, and this was certainly no exception! It's 100% natural, and contains only 100% juice. There is no added sugar, and it's free of preservatives too. I really enjoyed the refreshing taste and rich flavor the fresh fruit provided. The texture was smooth, and the consistency was just a little thicker than juice itself. With 8 servings of fruit per bottle, this is an excellent choice if you want to easily get more fruit in your diet. The one thing I'm hesitant on is that the fruit is not organic. Strawberries and apples (there is apple juice in this smoothie) are among the many fruits on the "dirty dozen" list of produce you should buy organic due to amount of pesticides the fruits carry (according to the Environmental Working Group). However, because I can't always afford to buy organic produce EVERY time, the fact that the produce used isn't organic is not going to stop me from buying them. It's certainly a tasty treat and a great option to get in some extra servings of fruit. 

The second beverage I chose to review was the Perfectly Protein Mocha Cappuccino. I'm not a fan of coffee by itself, but I really like mocha flavored drinks and ice cream. This beverage has a distinct coffee flavor without being too overpowering. The yummy undertones of chocolate round out the flavor perfectly! It has a really creamy milk taste without having a thick texture and I love that there is no nasty coffee aftertaste! The beverage is a smooth blend of 100% Arabica coffee, premium cocoa and pure Madagascar vanilla extract. There is also no added sugar in this one, but a lot a vitamins and minerals instead! I also just found on the bottle that there are no genetically modified ingredients in this drink!

~ Dressings ~

I also had the opportunity to try their Creamy Yogurt Thousand Island Dressing. I was hoping to try their Yogurt Ranch Dressing but it was not in stock at the time. I needed to branch out and try something other than ranch anyway! I was pleasantly surprised to find how delicious this dressing is. It has a rich flavor, and a classic thousand island taste. I REALLY like that the first ingredient is yogurt in these dressings! That would explain why there is 60% less fat, and 50% fewer calories that other leading brands of dressings! I was impressed by the all-natural ingredients used, and that there are no preservatives, trans fats, MSG, artificial colors, flavors, or added sugar. Pretty darn natural and it tastes great!

Along with their line of 7 Yogurt Dressings, they also have 5 Olive Oil Vinaigrettes that sound amazing too.

Price: Each 32 oz. beverage is around $4 each. Based on the price, some of them are more of a treat, while others that contain 8 servings of fruit (like the Strawberry Banana Smoothie) can be considered a pretty good value. The dressings are around the $3 range and are also a great value for a natural, refrigerated dressing.

Verdict: There beverages are simply delicious, and the dressing I tried was very tasty. Bolthouse Farms products will now occasionally end up in my cart, instead of sitting on the shelf as I pass by! :) As previously mentioned, I'd love to see organic produce used in the beverages.
