About the Designer...

Hi everyone :) My name is Sophie and I am the owner and designer of the wonderful Etsy shop Babes and Sages. I am originally from Germany but moved to the Pittsburgh, PA area because of my wonderful American hubby. If you would like to find out more about how we met and our crazy love story, please visit the about page on my blog at babesandsages.blogspot.com. The hubby and I live in a home we built ourselves, with our two puppies Penny and Melvin and are also expecting a little baby boy in May. We are beyond excited :) I have always been a creative and hands-on person with a love for art and great design. I have a bachelors degree in Graphic Design and love to do branding, logo design and photography. I am currently focusing most of my creative attention on promoting and growing my handmade accessories business, but am always up for interesting design projects. My shop currently features jewelry and hair accessories but will hopefully expand its range as time goes by. I get inspired by everything around me, colors, nature and of course the fantastic resources the internet provides. I sometimes have a hard time going to sleep at night because there are so many ideas swirling around in my head. I have been creating things since I can remember but my accessory business is still in its infancy. My dream is to one day be able to help support my family by doing what I love and being my own boss at the same time. I am very lucky to have a wonderful husband who supports and pushes me to go after my dreams. I love meeting new people, in real life and in the blogosphere so please stop by and drop me a line or two, I would love to hear from you. The Bloom Fabric Flower Necklace in Lavender.

I was very excited to open my package from Sophie and check out what she sent me! First, I received The Bloom Fabric Flower Necklace in Lavender. It is gorgeous! Made of soft knit fabric and backed with felt for support, I found this necklace to be very high quality. You can tell Sophie loves what she does and she is very good at it too. You can find an array of great colors to choose from for this necklace. There is even a pair of matching stud earrings that I think I may have to get!

I also received the The Bloom Bobby Pin in Vanilla Berry Cobbler. Just pop it in your hair for a little feminine spice! This was so fun! It's small enough at less than 2 inches wide that even someone that sometimes feels a bit fashion-challenged and shy (like myself!) could totally pull this chic look off! Don't like bobby pins? I was honestly worried about how both items would fair during shipping. I am happy to report that they fluff up easily within seconds and the material will stay almost any way you put it! I'm excited to see what colors and new accessories are added to her line-up. I'm thinking she should add coordinating Bloom rings next!
