Fall is finally upon us, and it's time to whip out those ballet flats! I'm a sucker for stylish flats, especially if I can walk in them all day and do my mommy duties without sore toes and heels. Enter Brian James and my new pair of adorable ballet flats!
I received complimentary product for review purposes. All opinions are 100% my own.
Brian James is new on the shoe market and was created by the founder of the children's shoe brand, Pediped Footwear. Since we're already huge fans of Pediped, I knew I just had to try a pair of Brian James for myself. Seeing their Angie ballet flats (and their new suede colors this season!), I was absolutely besides myself! I always tend to wear neutral-colored shoes, and black is always my staple color. But I wanted a grey pair of flats to change things up, and to compliment the warm tones of the Fall season. So, I chose the Angie ballet flats in the Charcoal Kid Suede color, which retail for $98. This style comes in six colors, three that are leather and three that are suede.
The Angie ballet flats are very light weight, and offer a decent amount of support despite having no arch support. My feet don't roll inward when I wear these, so that was the first sign of a great design when I first wore these. I'm also happy to report that I did not experience a "break-in" period thanks to the memory foam insoles. I wore them out on the first day without realizing I was even wearing a new pair of shoes!

The Angie in features a leather or super soft suede outer, and a leather lining inside. The rubber outer sole is thin, flexible, and provides plenty of grip. I typically go for more of a square shaped toe box for my wide feet, but I found these to be just perfect. The rounded toe box gave me plenty of room.
One of the trouble areas I find with many ballet flats is the topline
around your foot. With the elastic topline of the Angie, this isn't a
problem at all, and I've had no issues with rubbing or blisters anywhere from them. The
elastic topline contributes to a very nice fit that almost feels a bit
custom to my foot since it's elastic and flexible. The memory foam insoles also add to the comfortable fit, giving a nice cushion to the bottom of the foot, but without being overly squishy.
Just a note on sizing, you may consider going up a size if you are between sizes. I'm typically a size 9 (EU 39), but required a size larger and they fit perfectly!
Not only is the Angie ballet flat style a very comfortable style, it's also a very versatile choice. I can easily wear these with my favorite jeans every day, but they also work great with slacks or a skirt for the office. I think these will probably be my go-to pair of flats for holiday parties this year.
What I love about Brian James is that their styles are really fabulous staples for any woman's wardrobe. Call it plain jane if you'd like, but having a reliable, classy pair of shoes is important, no matter the season! With that said, I'd actually consider buying another pair in a fun color like an aqua or royal blue if they ever come out with more colors, just for fun. I'm drooling over the 2.5 Wedge Pumps too. OMG Brian James, I'm dying over your shoes!
I'm delighted with my new Brian James Angie ballet flats, and I can't wait to see this brand grow and expand. There's definitely on to something great!
